Hi there!
I am an American living in Japan. I first came to Japan over 25 years ago as a US Marine. After completing my tour of duty I returned to the US, majored in Japanese language and literature, and, upon receiving my degree came back to Japan to work. I am married to a wonderful Japanese national and continue to reside in Japan.
If you are interested in restoring old vintage bicycles drop me a line or send me a photo and description so I can share your bicycle with enthusiasts here in Japan.

One of my passions is vintage bicycles. Why? It's simple, because "they don't make them like they used to." Simple, functional and beautiful. All steel frames, 3-layer baked-on black enamel paint, gold pin striping, rod-brakes, full front & rear fenders, fender ornaments, rear carriers, sprung leather saddles, chrome rims, rubber block pedals, beaded edge tires, enamel spokes, revolving bells, cloisonne badges....and built to last a lifetime. In addition to restoring Japanese single-speed balloon-tire rod-brake bicycles from around the 1950's, I enjoy restoring weight and spring driven clocks, antique furniture, things that are old and over-engineered to last a lifetime. My favorite book is Walden (Life in the Woods) by Henry David Thoreau.
