I was recently contacted by "M-san" who was looking for information on Nozawa bicycles. Unfortunately I only have limited information but for what it is worth, the following was taken from a 1959 Nozawa Works catalog.
Nozawa Works Company History
1937 Nozawa & Co. reorganized into a publicly traded company "Nozawa Works" manufacturing and selling the NOZAWA brand bicycles with a network covering all of Japan.
1945 Sales office is destroyed in the Tokyo air-raids. Company disbanded.
1948 Nozawa Works reestablished,
1949 Factory built in Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo.
1954 Construction of Nakayama Factory in Funabashi City, Chiba Prefecture commences.
1957 Nakayama Factory completed.
1958 Production surpasses 6,000 bicycles per month.
1959 Main Headquarters is established with the construction of the Nozawa Office Building on the original site where the Kamida Sales Office previously stood (destroyed in Tokyo air-raids in 1945).
I'm looking for any photos of bicycles produced by Nozawa Works. If your two-wheeled buddy is made by Nozawa Works, please send detailed photos so that I can share with other enthusiasts.
